JK’s have a tendency to leak more than a Bro Lite Truck, but hey, it’s a Jeep thing.
A few weeks ago while hosing off the JK I noticed that there were some water drops on the inside of the truck but I didn’t give it much thought because it was pretty minimal. Then I went to Red Cloud and washed the truck off with the fire hose…
The door might have well as looked like this…
Needless to say I figured that it was probably about time to find out where the water was coming from since I have a habit of going off the deep end.
After drinking some beer and breaking out the hose some rigorous testing we determined that the door was too high, and the weather stripping at the bottom of the door wasn’t making full contact with the body.
Thankfully the engineers at Jeep left about 1/4″ of play all around for you to work with so you’ll be able to apply some expert adjustments.
First we loosened the four door hinge screws that are on the exterior of the truck. Make sure you keep the door closed while doing this.
After we got the door where we wanted it, we adjusted the latch so it lined up perfectly with the door.
Now that you know how to fix a leaking door go break out a beer and tell your girl you need to spend a day in the garage.
