“How Can I Join A DirtRoadTrip?”
This is easily the most common question we receive on a daily basis, and historically we’ve never really given a clear response. The main reason behind this is the word you’ll see on ever waiver you ever sign: Liability. Unfortunately we currently live in an overly litigious climate, and while I wouldn’t complain to much if I had to give up my Jeep, I’m pretty sure our wive’s wouldn’t be happy if we had to sell our houses.
“Okay bro we get it, so what’s the point of this article?” The point is that our readership is an awesome group and we want to offer all of you the opportunity to join us on our DirtRoadTrip’s. Based on our experiences with our Summer and Winter Camp Out (i.e. no one has died and everyone’s been awesome), we’re comfortable with running day trips in a similar format.
So here’s how it’s going to work, 3 weeks before the trip we’re going to post up the general details on the site. If you want to come, you can shoot us an e-mail at Alex@DirtRoadTrip.com and I’ll send you the coordinates and a basic itinerary. Now here’s the rub, most of the trails we travel on don’t really have the capacity for more than 10 vehicles, and a lot of the camping spots have a similar issue. So we’ll only accept the first 5 people that e-mail us and everyone else will go on a wait list.
Just like our Camp Out’s you accept all liability for yourself, and here’s that fun legal language you’re all used to by now: This is not an organized event nor coordinated group event; we are simply telling you where you’ll find us on a particular date and time, barring any unforeseen circumstances. DirtRoadTrip LLC does not accept any risk or liability for your well being or your property. Anything you do or choose not to do is completely voluntary on your part.
“Only 5 trucks? That kind of sucks.” I agree, but we’ve all been on those trail rides where you’re either in a line of 20 trucks, or those guys are out there blocking the trail. It’s really no fun for anyone involved, and it’s definitely not any fun for the guys that have to wait for the group to pass.
Should you have any questions, feel free to ask! We’ll see you guys out on the trails.
