Most of you have probably noticed that there has been a significant decrease in content being released here at DirtRoadTrip over the past 2 months. Most of this is due to the fact that we went out on a weekend trip in a Land Rover and we’ve finally been rescued from the wilderness.
Seriously though, we all know Land Rovers never leave the mall parking lot so where have we actually been? The answer is slightly complicated, so I’ll try to keep myself from running off on too many tangents.
Over the past 2 years, Ben and I have produced 90% of the content for the site, and while we have great contributors who generate amazing content for us, we still have to do the majority of the writing. What does this mean? It means we have to write 3 posts a week, for 52 weeks a year, while trying to keep our wives from leaving us balance a day job, and do all that fun adult stuff.
The past 2 months have been particularly busy for us, we’re both seeing expanded roles in our day jobs that are requiring more of our time, and I finally pulled the trigger on buying a house. In the automotive spectrum, Ben has been bit by the track bug and is hitting High Performance Driving events in his Mustang.
So what does this mean? We’re still going to keep producing content, we just need a little time to catch up with our day jobs and our regular lives. Starting in Mid-May, we’ll get back to producing content on a regular schedule and we’ll release the dates for our Weekend Trips and Camp Outs. We also plan on making a strong showing at all of the major Overland events on the east coast this year, and we’ll have the DRT party room ready for the party.
Thanks for continuing the support the site and we hope to see you guys out on the trails.

I think the guest posts would be a great idea. While I don’t get out nearly as often as you all do, and my adventures aren’t as cool, I’d be happy to contribute if you would like. Plus, I write a regular piece for a popular financial website and newsletter as part of my day job, so I’m a pretty good writer.

What about getting some guest posts? I’ll be glad to start a series on getting into off roading if I could be funded with a cheap xj, ha-ha.

They just like driving loaners… don’t have to work on ’em! Besides…. Henry needs some East Coast head sweat to keep him balanced! 😉

If you ever just want to fly east, we’ve got 2 trucks you can always use!

Again with the Land Rovers, will you just buy one. You obviously have Rover envy, all the cool kids have them.
Alex says
Ron, I’ll buy a Rover the day Lazz shows up with a Purple Mohawk to one of the Rallies.
